Bio
PJ Anand is a repeat founder-operator with 25+ years building and exiting biotechnology and med-tech companies, with depth in CNS therapeutics, CNS management, and intrathecal delivery. He founded Alcyone Therapeutics and built it through institutional financing and development partnerships with large biopharma culminating in Biogen Corporation's 2025 acquisition of Alcyone Therapeutics. During his tenure at Alcyone, PJ executed successful spin-out of Anuncia and led the company until recruitment of the CEO. PJ has led and executed strategic transactions with global biopharma and medtech partners including Medtronic, Roche, Shire (now Takeda), Pfizer, and Biogen spanning equity investments, research collaborations, evaluation and option agreements, licenses, development partnerships, and M&A. He is named inventor on 18+ issued and 16 pending patents across an international portfolio. In addition to Neela, Alcyone and Anuncia, he co-founded Arthromeda, Inc. (AI-guided, patient-specific musculoskeletal navigation). Earlier, as a founding executive of WMR Biomedical, assets of which advanced within Arsenal Medical (neurovascular) and Lyra Therapeutics (chronic rhinosinusitis) he helped secure the company's early strategic financing and development partnerships. Prior to WMR, PJ was GM & President of Spire Biomedical where he in-licensed the seminal technology, developed a disruptive product in ESRD through regulatory clearances and commercially grew the business which resulted in acquisition by CR Bard (now Becton Dickenson) in 2009. His work spans CNS, renal, vascular, and orthopedic medicine: a consistent record of translating early science into partnered, capital-efficient programs and realized exits.
