What is Hydrocephalus?

Hydrocephalus happens when cerebrospinal fluid builds up in the brain, creating pressure that the body cannot drain on its own. The most common treatment is a shunt, a small implanted system that carries the extra fluid safely away from the brain.
Shunts can become blocked over time as tissue, blood or debris collects around the catheter. When a shunt stops draining properly it often means another procedure, and some people face repeated surgeries across their lifetime.
That is where ReFlow® comes in. It gives you and your care team a gentle, non-surgical way to help flush the catheter inlet holes and keep the shunt flowing.

How ReFlow® Helps You

Noninvasive maintenance, No Surgery Needed
ReFlow is placed during your standard shunt surgery. Once you have healed, no further surgery is needed to use it.
Care at Home or Anywhere You Go
Fits easily into everyday life, in about the time it takes to brush your teeth.
Peace of Mind
Take a more active role in managing hydrocephalus, with greater confidence between clinic visits.

Percutaneous Shunt Maintenance
The ReFlow® Mini Flusher sits under the scalp as part of your shunt. A deliberate press helps keep fluid flowing as part of everyday shunt care.
Compatible with Most Shunts
ReFlow works with most commercially available shunts and sits under the scalp as part of your existing shunt system.
A Deliberate Press
A press of the device sends a controlled flush towards the catheter.
Fluid Keeps Flowing
The flush helps clear blockages to restore, maintain and increase CSF flow.
